\bACZAR was unable to access internal data.\b
\bProbable Causes:\b
■ You did not start ACZAR from its directory. For example, if ACZAR is
installed in C:\\ACZAR, change to that directory and start ACZAR again.
■ You originally started ACZAR in one directory, but then moved the files
to another directory. By that time, ACZAR has saved path information
where it was originally installed in the internal data file ACZAR.DAT.
Delete the file ACZAR.DAT and start ACZAR again.
■ You changed or deleted any directories where certain files where
expected to be. For example, ACZAR stores the pathnames where your
compression programs are located in the file ACZAR.DAT. You can either
delete this file or make the pathname changes with a text editor. For
more info about the ACZAR.DAT file read ACZAR.DOC.
■ Some internal files have been corrupted or are missing. To solve this
problem, delete all files in the ACZAR directory and install ACZAR
again from a fresh copy.
\bOther solutions are:\b
1. - Exit ACZAR
- Change into the ACZAR directory
- Delete the file ACZAR.DAT
- While still in the ACZAR directory, start-up ACZAR again
- Follow the prompts to complete the set-up procedure
2. - Set-up an environment variable in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file
- To do this use a text editor or use the EDIT.COM program that
comes with MS-DOS 5.0
- Edit your AUTOEXEC.BAT file and include the following line:
SET ACZAR=PATH
(where PATH is the directory where you installed ACZAR, for example
C:\\ACZAR)

##2 -- 7
\bThere is not enough memory to run ACZAR or part of ACZAR.\b
\bProbable Causes:\b
■ There is not enough memory available either base, extended or
expanded memory.
Base memory is the memory area between 0 - 640 KBytes. Try to free
base memory by not running terminate and stay resident (TSR) programs,
reducing file buffers. Also, try not to run ACZAR from a shell program.
More information about freeing memory and how to get the best memory
performance can be optained from your DOS manual.
If your system has expanded memory available, ACZAR will use some or
all of it. This will free base memory and improves performance of ACZAR
on some functions.
If the problem still occures, call (915) 595-8787 for technical support.
Or, call the 24 hour support BBS at (915) 595-8705 and leave a comment
about the problem.
##3 -- 61
\bThere is not enough disk space available.\b
\bProbable Causes:\b
■ Your hard drive, ram drive, virtual drive, cd-rom drive, floptical
drive or floppy disk, optical disk, or other fixed storage device is
full.
Try to free disk space by deleting unnecessary files. Also, if you
have a rather large hard drive, try to delete small files such as
0 Byte files that take more disk space then actual needed.
If the problem still occures, call (915) 595-8787 for technical support.
Or, call the 24 hour support BBS at (915) 595-8705 and leave a comment
about the problem.
##4 -- 62
\bACZAR tried to read an old data file.\b
\bProbable Causes:\b
■ You did not delete ALL files in your old ACZAR directory before
installing the new beta version. Delete all files in your ACZAR
directory and install ACZAR again.
■ Delete all user settings - all *.USR files. Then, go to main menu
SWITCHES and set your user archive switches again or just ACCEPT
the default settings.
If the problem still occures, call (915) 595-8787 for technical support.
Or, call the 24 hour support BBS at (915) 595-8705 and leave a comment
about the problem.
##5 -- Anything else
\bAn unexpected error has occured.\b
\bProbable Causes:\b
■ ACZAR is still in 'beta' test stage. That means ACZAR is NOT yet
officially released as version 1.00.
Releasing a beta version of a computer program provides the public
to test and run it as if it would have been released as a finished
program. In doing so, users are aware that a beta version is not yet
the final product.
For a software company, this offers a much better 'test phase' if the
public is involved in testing and running the software product. Also,
being a beta tester offers a chance of submitting opinions to the
software company. In addition, it also helps to find errors (bugs)
much faster.
Please report the error to CZAR Software by calling (915) 595-8787
for technical support. Or, call the 24 hour support BBS at
(915) 595-8705 and leave a comment about the problem.
